a project focused on the countries of origin

For Omkafè, sustainability begins in the countries where coffee is grown. The company actively supports two projects in two coffee-growing countries, contributing to the social and economic development of the producing regions.

Omkafè is committed to supporting communities in the countries of origin. That is why we have chosen to support the ‘Everyone to School’ project in Montenegro, in the department of Quindío, Colombia.

The project involves 520 pupils aged between 5 and 16 at the Francisco José de Caldas School, located in a neighbourhood characterised by high levels of social vulnerability. Many children come from families facing financial hardship and often arrive at school without having eaten yet.

Through our commitment, we aim to help provide school uniforms, learning materials and nutritious meals to the pupils who need them most. Teachers identify the most vulnerable children and support them, together with their families, on an educational journey that promotes the importance of learning, hygiene and fundamental values for the future.

Another project supported as part of Omkafè’s ‘Beans4Change’ initiative focuses on education in Ecuador’s Amazonian communities.

The project involves 50 children and their families, who live in conditions of extreme poverty and are often far from schools. Thanks to annual funding, school fees, teaching materials, hygiene products, healthcare support and basic foodstuffs are provided. Volunteers make regular visits to the families, offering not only practical help but also a listening ear and guidance. The aim is to promote access to education and offer new opportunities for the future to children in Amazonian communities.

Beans4Change is also funded through the sale of the Ariva Origins range, with €1 donated for every kilogram of coffee sold. A delicious coffee that does good.
